Things to Do

There are many attractions very close to our park. Although we are located in the desert, we have a great diversity of plants, animals, and scenic views. Just west on Kinney Road you will find OLD TUCSON MOVIE STUDIOS with its movie sets and other attractions.

You may spend many hours studying the unique plants, animals and geology of Arizona and the Sonora Desert at the ARIZONA-SONORA DESERT MUSEUM. The SAGUARO NATIONAL MONUMENT with its museum telling the story of the magnificent saguaro.

The White Dove of the Desert, SAN XAVIER MISSION is another of the many attractions that can be seen in Tucson.

The TUCSON MOUNTAIN PARK is within walking distance and affords hikers with many miles of desert exploration. Within an hour you can be in 10,000 foot mountains at MT LEMMON and hike or ski.

Explore the natural history of the world at THE INTERNATIONAL WILDLIFE MUSEUM where you can view over 400 species of mammals, birds, and insects from around the world.

If your taste is in exploring caves, then COLOSSAL CAVE will be to your liking.

SABINO CANYON provides hiking and tram rides to explore the canyon.

Close by we have the nation’s best observatory at KITT PEAK NATIONAL OBSERVATORY with scheduled tours.
